- Be able to describe the mechanisms of action and the detrimental effects of the common types of environmental pollutants, chemicals, and drugs.
- Define anthracosis, silicosis, berylliosis, farmer's lung, and asbestosis; list the significant effects of each.
- Be able to define ionizing radiation, give its unit of measurement, and describe its adverse effects on tissues--both short-term and long-term.
