The patient is a 48 year old female with renal cell carcinoma and complex renal cysts.
Kidney, right, nephrectomy - Multifocal papillary renal cell carcinoma, occurring in a background of acquired cystic disease.
- Discrete tumor measures 0.5 cm in greatest dimension, while the maximum dimension of the other tumor measured from glass slide is 1.1 cm (this lesion was not discrete grossly). - Fuhrman nuclear grade II-III/IV, in all tumor.
- Tumor appears confined to kidney, with no extension into renal vein.
- Margins of resection are free of tumor.
- Remaining kidney parenchyma shows changes of end stage kidney.
