RADIOLOGY: HEPATOBILIARY: Case# 33583: HEPATIC MASS (TRAUMA). 40 year old unrestrained driver was T-boned and had a roll over MVA. The amylase is slightly elevated. 1. Two circular hyperdense lesions are noted within the right posterior segment of the liver which contains central low attenuation scars. These most likely represent focal nodular hyperplasia. Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma cannot be excluded. This lesions appearance is unlikely due to trauma. It is atypical for hemangioma or hepatic adenoma. A liver MRI with Ferrodex IV contrast could be used to sort out the true etiology. Otherwise, biopsy would be required to exclude fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. 2. No evidence of intraabdominal injury. 3. Incidental note is made of umbilical hernia. 4. No evidence of pancreatic injury.
