RADIOLOGY: GASTROINTESTINAL: GI: Case# 33708: NEUTROPENIC COLITIS, IE. TYPHLITIS. 66 year old male with myelodysplastic syndrome and subsequent leukemic transformation into ALL. Patient with fever and right sided abdominal pain. Rule out abscess. Patient has had an appendectomy in the past. Patient is on chemotherapy and is neutropenic. 1. Marked thickening of the right colonic wall with surrounding infiltrative changes of the fat consistent with neutropenic colitis, ie. typhlitis. 2. No loculated fluid collection to suggest an abscess. 3. Possible pneumonia of the lung bases bilaterally.
