RADIOLOGY: HEPATOBILIARY: Case# 33700: ACUTE CHOLECYSTITIS AND PROBABLE GALLBLADDER EMPYEMA. CHOLELITHIASIS. The patient is a 66 year old male with endstage renal disease secondary to diabetes mellitus. The patient presented on 12/11/97 with a 4 week history of abdominal pain, decreased oral intake and a 12 pound weight loss (during the past month). Examination is requested to evaluate for a mass. Acute cholecystitis and probable gallbladder empyema. Cholelithiasis, and gallbladder wall thickening, gallbladder inflammatory changes, and pericholecystic fluids are noted. 2. The kidneys are somewhat small. 3. Air space disease vs atelectasis in the right lung base.
