This site is part of the PEIR Network: |
The PEIR Digital Library is a virtual microscopy-enabled, multidisciplinary public access image database of 42,000 images and counting for use in medical education.
The Interactive Pathology Laboratory (IPLab) offers an interactive, case-based approach for learning the concepts of pathology.
The MERIT site contains relevant links to Web resources for medical education. | | | The PEIR Residents Resources site was created with the purpose of establising a
gateway to useful educational resources on the Web in the field of
Pathology. The Internet is a very powerful informational tool, but finding
specific information can be difficult due to the information overflow on the
Web and the considerable "noise" that confounds the character and quality of
the matches obtained by using Web search tools. The focus of this site is on
Web pages and online documents with an educational content. Emphasis is
placed on sites with ample illustrations and sites that can be accessed for
free. Links to commercial sites are not included unless the site has clear
educational content. In many cases the links are made directly to the
educational subdirectories of those sites, rather than linking to the main
page. The main categories were intentionally made to illustrate the various kinds of Web resources that are of potential educational value in Pathology.
This links database is an ongoing project where the links are classified in
numerous subcategories.
How To Use This Site
Finding a link in the desired field, specialty, or subspecialty can be done
by browsing the categories or by using the "Search" feature of the site. The
two biggest categories are the "Anatomic Pathology Links" and the "Clinical
Pathology Links" categories where the bulk of the links now reside in many
subspecialty subcategories.
