North Pavilion University Hospital


The University Hospital North Pavilion is the most recent addition to UAB Hospital.



Opening in November 2004, this 885,000 square foot, 11-story facility includes 37 operating suites, 3 medical surgical units, 4 intensive care units (trauma and burn, surgical, neuroscience, cardiovascular), and a 38,000 square foot emergency department and heliport.



UAB Hospital is the largest comprehensive medical facility in Alabama, with more than 2.1 million square feet of facilities, 900+ beds, and 43,000+ patients per year.

The University Hospital North Pavilion is located at 1802 6th Avenue South in close proximity to Jefferson Tower and the old University Hospital, Wallace Tumor Institute, Spain Rehabilitation Center, and the proposed radiation oncology facility which is planned for construction in 2006.
