Neurobiology research involves the mechanisms of neuronal cell death and neoplasia.

Neuropathology research is focused on understanding the pathogenesis of some of the most physically and emotionally devastating human illnesses including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, drug abuse, brain tumors, schizophrenia and depression.  Typical graduate student research projects utilize modern molecular, biochemical, and neurobiological techniques to investigate the mechanisms of neurological and psychiatric disease pathogenesis.
