After graduating from the University of Florida with a bachelors in microbiology and minors in chemistry and classics I came to UAB and started my research in gene therapy. I am now under the mentorship of Dr. Curiel in the Department of Human Gene Therapy.

   Hometown:

West Palm Beach, Florida

Undergraduate/Masters Institution:

University of Florida

General Research Interests:

Gene therapy, single mutation genetic disorders, cancer

It has recently been shown that certain cancers recruit regulatory T cells to help suppress the immune system in the tissue surrounding the cancer. Targeting with a conditionally replicating adenovirus vector to kill the recruited Tregs could be a possible treatment for patients suffering from cancer.
