I am...a mother, a daughter, a sister, a scientist, and a
friend |
|
I was born in 1980 in Moscow, Russia. I came to
the United States in September of 1998 after completing my high school
education.
I started college in 2000 at Houston Community College, but
later transferred to Montana State University Bozeman and graduated with a BS in
Microbiology and BS in Cell Biology and Neurosciences in 2004. While at MSU, I
worked in Dr. Jean Starkey's lab on identifying roles of Laminin Binding Protein
in tumor angiogenesis (See International Journal of Cancer, Dec.
2005).
Following graduation, I started working towards my PhD at UAB, and
I love it here! I've made friends and really enjoy the atmosphere of a large
research center. I reside in Vestavia Hills with my 5-year old daughter,
Victoria.
