I have a Bachelor's in English and a minor in Biology and Chemistry from Birmingham-Southern College.

   Hometown:

Birmingham, AL

Undergraduate/Masters Institution:

Birmingham Southern College

General Research Interests:

Leukocyte adhesion, better understanding of T-cell integrin avidity and adhesion on inflamed epithelium.

My research is focused on the physical interactions between lymphocytes and their environment on adhesion, the key step in inflammation.

Using biophysical techniques, such as single particle tracking, I use the latest technology to elucidate the role of alpha 4 integrin, beta 2 integrin, and selectin ligand movement on the cytoskeleton. My research, therefore, deals with any disease requiring an inflammatory response, which can range from multiple sclerosis to colitis.
