| I am a fourth year student in the MCP program, and I am preparing to defend this summer ('08). I originally came to Birmingham to work at UAB after having worked as a technician, in both academia and industry, in Pennsylvania. Like many other "northerners," I was skewed by the stereotypes of the south to believe that I would essentially be living 20 years behind the times. Instead, I found myself in a thriving metropolitan area at one of the nation's leading medical institutions. I have fallen in love with the area and plan to continue my career here in private industry after I graduate. |
