The UAB Hughes Med-Grad Fellowship Program is currently accepting applications for Fall 2010.
- Thesis research with physician-scientist mentors
- Disease-based courses in clinical research
- Drug discovery internship with Southern Research Institute
- Program-paid stipend and tuition allowance
- Recognition as a UAB Hughes Med-Grad Scholar
Graduates of the UAB Howard Hughes Med-Grad Fellowship Program will enter the workforce with the necessary experience in translational research and leadership training to move discoveries effectively between the bench and bedside.
UAB is 1 of only 23 schools in the U.S. to receive funding from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) $16-million dollar initiative for the Howard Hughes Med-Grad Fellowship Program.
