| Description |
Congenital factor II (prothrombin) deficiency is caused by one of several rare mutations that reduce prothrombin production or activity. Acquired prothrombin deficiency is caused by vitamin K deficiency, the use of Coumadin therapy, or prothrombin-neutralizing lupus anticoagulant. |
