Fibrinogen functional assay
D-dimer, quantitative The quantitative D-dimer assay has replaced the semi-quantitative assay in most coagulation laboratories.
Although rarely needed, the fibrin degradation products assay may be useful in certain instances and is available from the UAB Coagulation Laboratory by special order. Also, the antithrombin (also called ATIII) assay may be a useful follow-up test during therapy. Please contact the UAB Coagulation Service for consultation.
