These assays are available from the UAB Coagulation Service to detect, identify, and monitor disseminated intravascular coagulation.

Although rarely needed, the fibrin degradation products assay may be useful in certain instances and is available from the UAB Coagulation Laboratory by special order. Also, the antithrombin (also called ATIII) assay may be a useful follow-up test during therapy.
