| Description |
The reptilase time is suggested in follow-up to the thrombin time to confirm the presence of heparin. If heparin is present, the thrombin time is prolonged and the reptilase time is normal. A prolonged reptilase time also implies fibrinogen deficiency or abnormal fibrinogen such as is produced in liver disease. |
