| Specimen |
Collect three (3) blue-stopper tubes (3.2% sodium citrate), filled to specified volume. Do not underfill or overfill. |

Do not centrifuge. Maintain tubes at room temperature and deliver to special coagulation laboratory within 3 hours of collection. |

| Description |
Platelet aggregometry is used to detect congenital or acquired platelet deficiencies such as storage pool disorder, release disorder, von Willebrand disease, or platelet membrane abnormalities. Aggregometry uses the agonists collagen, thrombin and arachidonic acid. |
